On this day in Streisand history: Barbra takes “The Concert" to London and performs at the Wembley Arena for the very first time.
(April 20, 1994)

"I love London. (…) I love your accents, your manners. I chose it to be the first city in my tour because I love London so much. I loved it from the very first moment I came here, I remember, in 1961. I love - besides the people, the architecture, the sense of history - I even love the food. I could live on little tea sandwiches with the crusts cut off!" {x}

24 reasons to love Streisand - A birthday countdown24 → her birthday & lucky number

#14. Classical Barbra

For me, being a Streisand fan involves a lot of pride… It’s a thrill to think that the person you admire the most is so incredibly talented. There might be bias in a fan’s opinion, of course, but Barbra’s talent can’t ever be denied and Classical Barbra is brilliant evidence of that. Classical Barbra will always be one of my favorite albums because I’m proud of her range, diversity and capacity, not to mention, its beauty can move me to tears.

"Streisand entered into the world of classical music instead of bending it to her needs."

→ Buy Classical Barbra.

#15. Her nails

In the early 80s, before I was old enough to appreciate Streisand’s music, I was fascinated by her nails. I guess children are easily impressed by some album covers, well, I loved the cover of The Way We Were and it was all about those long red nails…

"The main thing I didn’t want to be was a typist. I let my fingernails grow long so I couldn’t type."
